Precision Farming
All of the precision farming equipment that we use is provided from any one of our 12 John Deere Greenstar GPS units. All of the tractors are equipped with GPS Autosteer and we are able to use the Greenstar units to host the variable rate prescriptions and convert to formats which are recognised by the fertiliser spreader, drills, crop sprayer and combine harvester.
Yield Mapping
We are now using yield mapping and accurate input recording to offer our customers gross margin mapping. This is a great way to indicate the productivity of the land that we farm. Also, it highlights to us and our customers specific areas within a farm that is low yielding, therefore different farming methods can be used to ensure that all fields are producing a high crop yield.
JD Link
All machines are monitored with a technological revolution called JD Link. This allows us to monitor machinery locations, settings and problems from the farm office or a mobile device. JD Link provides us with information of the work that has been completed through a coverage map. This enable us to monitor work rates of all our team and ultimately improve the precision of our farming techniques.
